A film portrait of Radovan Karadžić, extract from the 1998 documentary The Reckoning.
The former Bosnian Serb leader was convicted of genocide and war crimes and sentenced to 40 years in prison on 24 March 2016. The trial lasted 8 years.
Included here is his mother Jovanka. She died, 83, in 2005 and was buried in the town of Nikšićic in Karadžić's native Montenegro.
Also in the film is Karadžić's wife Ljiljana Zelen Karadžić. In July 2005 and in October 2007 she made calls for her husband to surrender after, in her words, 'enormous pressure' had been put onto her and their family.
We also see former Sarajevo colleague Marko Vesović and Serbian poet and playwright Branislav Brana Crnčević.
