In 1997 Bulgaria was at breaking point, facing an overall crisis. Tens of thousands of people were protesting daily against the former Communist government. On 10 January the country's parliament in Sofia came under siege.

On Saturday, 11 January 1997, Bulgarian National TV's weekly programme "Panorama" broadcast a 25 minutes piece on what happened less than 24 hours earlier.

At the besieged parliament and inside, after it was stormed by angry anti-government protesters.
